What is a witness

I recently learned that the night clerk at the motel where myself and 15 or 20 ASR members stayed during the 2017 national rally was robbed killed less than 10 days after we left. My first thought was did we miss an opportunity to share the gospel to someone who would so soon go to meet God? As I pondered this it came to me that our witness is not always just our testimony but our every action and how we reflect the love of God toward other people.
